Shieldteam

The Shield Team is a Multi- Agency team consisting of representatives from Barnardo’s, Greater Manchester Police and The Brook, Wigan and Leigh. The strategic objective of this team is to support the work of the Wigan Safeguarding Children Board in ensuring that all agencies work together to safeguard and promote the safety and welfare of children/young people up to 18 years old who are at risk of sexual exploitation.

Safe Sleeping

Wigan LSCB is working with Bolton and Salford LSCBs to launch on 27th June a Safe Sleeping Campaign to highlight the risk factors which can lead to Sudden Infant Deaths. To support this a Safe Sleep competition is taking place in Wigan in which parents and carers are invited to highlight the risk factors from a ‘bad room’ image. Prizes include a new cot and vouchers from local supermarkets. Entries to be submitted by Friday 29th July to any local health centre reception or Hindley Town Hall
