7 minute briefings from case reviews

Wigan Safeguarding Partnership have 7 minute briefings to provide key messages and support reflective discussions with practitioners and agencies on embedding the learning from Serious Case Reviews.

Research into 7 minute briefings suggests that 7 minutes is an ideal time span to concentrate and learn. Learning for 7 minutes is manageable in most services, and the learning is more memorable as it's simple and not clouded by other issues and pressures.

Our briefings are issued on a regular basis to help practitioners and agencies reflect on their practice and systems. They will be produced following each Serious Case Review.

Thematic briefings have also been produced on key themes from Rapid Reviews and Serious Case Reviews. These briefings allow us to share learning relating to themes which may have been highlighted in several cases and/or those cases were ongoing processes prevent publication and therefore a case specific briefing.

For more information about National Case Reviews you can visit the National Case Review Repository (external link). The repository provides a single place for published case reviews.
